To create a welcoming experience for everyone, we set clear expectations for the behavior and content in our ecosystem and take action against those who violate our rules. We also implement default safety settings for our youngest players, and provide tools for players, parents and creators to manage their experience.
Our Rules
We have Community Rules that set clear guidelines for how we expect all players to behave inside our ecosystem. We also have Content Guidelines with details on content that can’t be shared through our different experiences, services and marketplaces.
Reporting Suspected Violations to Epic
Players can use in-game mechanisms to report inappropriate behavior or content in Fortnite, Rocket League and Fall Guys. For example, voice and text chat reporting enables players to submit evidence to Epic for suspected violations of our Community Rules.
For the Epic Games Store, players can report to Epic any game that they believe violates our rules through the product page on the Epic Games Store website or the Epic Games Launcher. Behavior or content in those games can be reported to the publisher directly.
Additionally, if a player suspects that content or behavior in any of our products or services violates our Community Rules or Content Guidelines or is illegal, they can use this form to report it. Players can view the status and outcome of their reports on the My Reports page. Further information about how to report suspected violations can be found here.
Sanctions
We take action when we identify violations of our rules, including illegal content or conduct, with consequences that vary depending on the severity of the violation and the number of previous sanctions a player has received. More information about Epic’s sanctions can be found here.
Appeals and Complaints
Players can appeal a sanction decision if they believe a mistake was made during moderation. Further information about how to submit an appeal can be found here.
If you are an Australian resident and wish to make a complaint regarding Epic’s compliance with the Australian Online Safety Act, including a registered industry code or standard, please contact us using this form.
Safety Tools and Settings
Our safety and privacy settings and features include Cabined Accounts for Australian players under the age of 16, high privacy default settings for younger players, and Parental Controls, such as social permissions, purchasing permissions, and age-rating restrictions.
Players can also block or mute other players in games and leave group text chats they no longer wish to participate in.
Every Fortnite island has its own age and content rating; learn more here. More information about age and content ratings in the Epic Games Store can be found here.
More information can be found in our Safety and Security Center.
